Baystar President and Managing Director Diane Chamberlain is an experienced global business manager, who joined the Joint Venture in 2018, after a 27 year career in the refining and petrochemical industry. She has worked at Chevron, CPChem and Shell and has a strong operational background in ethylene and polyethylene, as well as extensive experience in supply chain, sales, business development, technical marketing and most recently in catalyst technology with CRI/Criterion, Shell’s catalyst company. Diane’s professional experience and enthusiasm is guiding Baystar to bring together the operational and safety excellence of Total, the commercial excellence of Nova and new technology from Borealis to create a successful and sustainable business.
Baystar Business Director, Robert Dempsey, has over 30 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry in both the upstream and petrochemcials businesses. He has over 20 years of experience with the Bayport site having begun his polymers career as the Business Analyst for Total’s US PE business. Prior to the formation of Baystar, Robert was the Manager of Strategy and Business Development for Total’s US Polymers business and was a part of the negotiating team which created Baystar. His extensive knowledge of the polyethylene business and Baystar’s product offering and customer base provide a strong foundation for the growth of Baystar.
Baystar Finance & Business Services Director, Shauna Meyer, serves as the company’s chief financial and compliance officer. In this capacity, Shauna is responsible for all financial, human resources, information technology and legal management.
Shauna has over 25 years of experience including 10 years in the financial services industry with American General/AIG. Prior to joining Baystar, Shauna spent the past 15 years upstream in the drilling and services sector at Nabors Industries where she was responsible for oversight and leadership of the worldwide operational finance team. She managed both domestic and international teams responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and decision support for all drilling and services organizations.
Shauna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Finance from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. Her strong background in finance, budgeting, analytics, systems, and process management will help us to build a strong foundation for Baystar during this period of exciting growth.
Baystar Operations Director Brad Klussmann oversees the safe and efficient operation of Baystar assets. Brad is responsible for ensuring HSSE (Health Safety, Security &Environment), operating, maintenance and capital project standards are met for the Bay 1, Bay 2 and Bay 3 polyethylene units. He is also responsible for managing the HDA and Ethane Cracker Operating Agreements.
Brad has over 20 years of experience in polymer and petrochemical projects and manufacturing. He has 15 years of experience at the Bayport site, having held various production and leadership roles. Brad was the Plant Manager of the Total Bayport site prior to the formation of Baystar. He provides extensive knowledge of Bayport polyethylene and general manufacturing principles towards safe and efficient Baystar operations.
